You Can’t Hold a Moment

Standard

You can’t hold a moment
In fists clenched so tight
It seeps through like water
It fights

That same moment
Like sand on a beach
Will wash away
Before you can reach

You must seize that moment
Because none last a while
You must seize a moment
They don’t come in a pile

You must find that moment
You can’t pick and choose
When you want it to be
You must take it or lose

You can’t hold a moment
In fists clenched so tight
It seeps through like water
It fights

“Moments”…This poem is so on point! I can really relate with this poem right now. There was a situation recently in my life where I tried to hold onto something (a moment) but you can’t hold onto something that has faded away. In my case I’m talking about a relationship. But I like your style…it’s short but it flows nicely and leaves the reader with a clear message.
